Some youth of Dopieni near Dobile in the Wa Municipality, have resorted to Communal Labor to work on deplorable portion of the road linking Dopieni to Dobile.
Speaking to Info Radio during the communal exercise, leader of the said youth group, Mr. Ibrahim, popularly known as Thunder, said that they thought it imperative to mobilize themselves to work on the deplorable parts of the road, after being touched by the hurdles users of the road have to go through accessing it.
He told Info Radio that, the particular road was a stalled project since J.A. President Kufuor’s regime.
While calling on the Upper West Regional Minister to give the aforementioned road the required attention and seriousness, Mr. Ibrahim said he could not fathom why the road was abandoned and yet fresh road projects are being initiated.
He, however, applauded the Wa Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, for offering them two tipper trucks and five hundred Ghana cedis as a support towards their communal efforts at making the road motorable.
Another participant, Mr. Rashid Wajaah, on his part said, the road was theirs and motivated by the fact that, working to save motorists and other users of the road was part of their responsibilities.
