A young man believed to be in his 30s who was suspected to have been attacked, beaten and both hands and legs tied by unidentified assailants has been confirmed dead.
The motionless body of the young man was dumped by the roadside directly opposite the offices of Info Radio at Kpaguri, a suburb of Wa.
An eye witness who reported the sad incident to staff of info radio at about 6:40 am noted that he saw the body when he came to open his shop at same location.
Onlookers at the crime scene identified the victim as ‘Ogyam’ who was a driver to the Matron of Wa Technical Institute in Wa.
The body was picked by the Upper West Regional Police CID and deposited at the Wa Municipal Hospital Mortuary where he was confirmed dead.
The police said they have begun investigations into the circumstances that led to the unsightly scene, and to bring the perpetrators to book.
This has not been the first time such act has occurred in the Wa Municipality, a certain young man was killed and stripped naked at Kpaguri, and about two weeks ago, another young man was seen half buried at the same suburb, opposite Wa Technical Institute.
Meanwhile, the Upper West Regional Police Command has cautioned to the general public to desist from lynching and killing of suspected persons.
On Info Radio’s Ti Zine Yiri Yela, the Public Affairs Officer, Chief Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng said the Regional Police Commander has given a word of caution to the general public to abstain from instant justices.
Chief Inspector Boateng noted that, the police is conducting an investigation to the death of the young man and bring the perpetrators before the law.
