Residents of Yibile in the Wa Municipality have bemoaned the inadequate portable water supply at the community which sometimes cause fight among women in the community.
They said it also lead to low productivity as they spend more hours in long queues in search of water which otherwise could be spent on their farms or other productive ventures.
In an interview with Info Radio at the community, Madam Kuburah Hamidu, a resident said they have out-numbered the only two boreholes serving the entire community.
She further lamented that the breakdown of the boreholes compelled them to drink water from a dam which predisposes them to water-borne diseases.
Meanwhile, Madam Janabu Yakubu, another resident, indicated that they are not reaping full benefit from the dam as it is not able to hold water for them to do dry season farming.
