The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin-Salih has assured the people of Wa West District that the district will benefit from some five district hospitals to be built in the region by government and that plans are far advanced.
He also stated that, since his appointment as the Regional Minister in 2017, he has contributed significantly to the region’s health sector including the improvement of the number of doctors currently serving the region.
He made these statements in response to an appeal by the Paramount Chief of the Wechiau Traditional Area, Naa Alhaji Imoro Nandomy-Gomah II for government to fulfill its promise of building a district hospital in the area under the Agenda 111 district hospitals initiative.
The Chief said the Wa West district was earmarked to benefit one of the hospitals of which a site was acquired but no work has since been done.
The Regional Minister paid a courtesy visit to the Wa West District on Tuesday March 23, 2021 to announce his reappointment as the Upper West Regional Minister.
