Wa West DCE hands over tricycle ambulance to Kuukyiliyiri CHPS


The Wa West District Assembly has handed over a tricycle ambulance to the Kuukyiliyiri Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound to help improve timely access to healthcare services.


The ambulance was acquired through the Northern Development Authority (NDA).


Madam Vida Diorotey, the District Chief Executive for Wa West, who handed over the ambulance to the facility at the weekend, stated that the lack of an ambulance in the area had been a significant hindrance to timely access to healthcare service.


She said in order to solve the community’s challenges in transporting patients during an emergency, it is essential to give the CHPS access to the makeshift ambulance.

The District Chief Executive urged the chiefs and residents of Kuukyiliyiri to maintain the ambulance properly in order to keep it in excellent condition.


Madam Cecelia Kakariba, the District Director of Health Services for Wa West, expressed gratitude to the DCE for supplying the facility with an ambulance to improve its operations.


The Chief of the community, Naa Dramaani Polibu, who received the ambulance on behalf of the community, thanked the DCE for the ambulance which is meant to solve the problem of transportation.


The Chief however called on the government to work on the roads linking Kuukyiliyiri to the other adjoining communities to help make the use of the ambulance more effective.
