The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa West, Madam Vida Diorotey, has disclosed plans to procure furniture to distribute to all schools in the district.
According to her, the district Assembly has awarded a contract to a contractor to make 740 pieces of furniture for the schools in the district.
In an interview with Info Radio, Madam Diorotey said she is not sitting unconcerned about the inadequate furniture situation in the district but working tirelessly to acquire more furniture to end the challenges of children lying on the floor while academic activities is ongoing in class.
She indicated that she has already persuaded some reliable Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) who are willing to support solving the furniture deficit situation in the district.
The DCE also added that the Assembly has provided infrastructural facilities at some schools to augment existing ones and reduce the inadequate infrastructure situation as well.
