Miss Hatie Nwadei, the 2024 TV3’s Ghana Most Beautiful (GMB) representative for the Upper West Region, has held a durbar of chiefs and people in the region at the palace of the overlord of the Wala Traditional Council to officially introduce herself to the people of Upper West Region as she begins her journey into the competition.
The durbar, held on Tuesday, 30th July 2024, was attended by chiefs, queen mothers, representatives of some government departments and nongovernmental organizations, youth groups and friends of Hatie.
“I here today with the big news that I Hatie Nwadei have been duly selected and outdoored by Media General, frontiers of the GMB competition,” Hatie stated.
She thanked the people of the Upper West Region for their prayers and advice so far and asked for their support as she began the journey.
“Now is the time for us to join forces to fight for the ultimate, which is bringing the crown back to the Upper West Region.”
Hatie believes in the power of a collective and unanimous voice, which can propel her to win the competition.
She observed that the enthusiasm and energy of the people at the durbar indicated that the residents of the region were united in supporting her with their votes to help her win the competition.
“I am here to promise our chiefs, queen mothers and you all that, I will be my best; I will employ the right marketing skills to sell our rich culture, heritage and traditions to the world via the stage that will be provided.
“I will be eloquent and passionate in my deliveries and with the full complements of your votes, trust me we are heading to the very top of escaping weekly evictions till we are left to be evicted with the crown, car and the cash price to bring back home,” she added.
Hatie aimed to utilize the platform to empower girls in rural areas and to promote community development and local tourism in the Upper West Region.
“For every vote you cast, for every prayer you say, I want you to have it in mind that it is an investment for the better,” she stated.
Mr Nwadei Kenneth, father of Hatie, mentioned that her daughter has developed so much passion for community work in relation to girl child development.
“And before she can achieve this please I want to endorse her emphatically and to show my commitment that I accepted the competition she is going into.”
Mr. Suleiman Halim Sichumu, Vice Chairman of the Sissala Union in Wa, has urged the people of the region to show their support for Hatie by voting for her and praying for her victory in the competition.
He described Hatie as a selfless individual dedicated to the advancement of women and children, and assured the union's backing for her.
