Unit Committee Chairman for the Takpo Electoral Area, Nadwli/Kaleo District, Miilu Babel has appealed to the government and philanthropists to come to the aid of the Takpo Senior High School.
The Unit Committee Chairman said the school is lacking a lot of basic amenities, thus affecting progress in the discharge of academic activities.
In an interview with Info Radio, he stated that the students face a lot of challenges in all aspect of basic amenities, and urged that, something is done about it to curtail the suffering of students.
He cited that the school lacks a source of potable water, toilet and urinary facilities, electricity, accommodation facilities and a host of others.
He, however, applauded successive governments for the steps taken so far. According to him, the school started in 2010 and absorbed by government three years afterwards.
He acknowledged the strides made by the government of Ghana towards transforming the school to a befitting status.
Placing premium on water, the Chairman bemoaned an abandoned mechanized borehole at the School’s old Campus that is not operationalized.
The Chairman called to duty bearers to expedite actions towards making the said water facility functional and accessible for the students.
He therefore appealed to the Ghana Education Service, the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly and philanthropists to provide the school with necessary amenities to ease the suffering of the students, and fuel up progress of academic work.
