Yison Tech Hub, a premiere technology innovation hub, together with Noni Hub, an Information Technology (IT) firm, both in the Upper West Region, has organized a job fair for young entrepreneurs who have trained by the firms to pitch their business ideas and also link them to potential employers.
The young entrepreneurs have been trained under the Digitalizing Commerce For Sustainable Business Development and Job Creation programme.
The training was in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab.
According to the CEO of Yison Tech Hub, MrIssahaque Serikpera-naa, the training was to provide digital skills for young people who have successfully gone through six months intensive training and have acquired web development and mobile App development skills.
He said the trainees will undergo internship to prepare them for the job market.
Mr Serikpera-naa said the training seeks to create a consultative platform for young ones to further expose them to the business world especially the Tech sector.
Mr Sumaila Chakurah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noni Hub has urged companies to take an advantage of the programme to recruit the trainees who have just successfully gone through the digital skills training.
A representative of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Felix Wuurah, lamented the high unemployment rate in Ghana.
Mr. Wuurah however, applaud the two non-governmental organization for taking the initiative to create jobs for the youth.
