The ST. Augustine Senior High Technical School in Charikpong in the Nadowli-Kaleo District has celebrated its 10th anniversary to mark the performance of the school since its establishment.
The anniversary was on the theme” “Enhancing Quality Education through Hard Work and Discipline”.
Speaking at the ceremony the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Francis Xavier Kambotuu, said the school was established in 2006 and had made a lot of impact in contributing to human capital development in Ghana.
He said the objective of the school is to offer young people technical and vocational skills to become self-reliant.
However, Mr. Kambotuu lamented the many challenges facing the school including inadequate infrastructure, and lack of means of transport among others and appealed to the government and benevolent organizations for support.
The Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Mr. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, who was also the Member of Parliament for Sissala East Constituency urged parents to voluntarily visit the school and support both teachers and students as part of motivation and care.
The Director General of the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET), Madam Aliata Mumuni, in a speech on her behalf, said she is committed to ensuring the improvement of TVET education in Ghana.
