Residents of Yipaala in the Dabo electoral area of the Wa West District are facing challenges with their road network.
The poor condition of the road is causing difficulties for pregnant women to receive healthcare services as there is no nearby health facility.
Madam Stella Kabiebayo, a resident of the community, expressed her concern over the negative impact of the poor road network on the community's growth.
She mentioned that the poor road conditions make it difficult for pregnant women in labor to travel to a health facility for skilled delivery.
“Due to the poor road conditions, it is challenging to transport women in labor to receive skilled medical attention, which is negatively impacting the community's development and the well-being of our children.”
She appealed to the government to improve the community’s poor road network
Mr Wontuo Yiri Jatoe, another resident, mentioned that apart from the poor road network, the community is also in dire need of electricity.
“As residents of this community, we require a road that connects ‘Corner F’ to Yipaala, and then to Dabo. Additionally, we request that the government connects us to the national grid,” he stated.
