Residents of Konkuo, a suburb of Jirapa in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region have called on government and Non-Governmental Organizations to assist them in the area of education by establishing a Kindergarten for the community for their kids to attend with ease.
The call, according to the residents, has become necessary to save the lives of their kids they often suffer accidents trying to cross some busy principal streets in the town.
Speaking to Info Radio, during its morning show, “ZIENYAANYE UPPER WEST”, the Chief of Konkuo, Naa Angdelle Haara, lamented that their children below five years, have to risk their lives daily to cross main roads in the community to attend school.
Naa Angdelle Haara said the situation is very critical, describing the road as busy and unsafe for such children.
The Chief, on behave his people, therefore, appealed to the Jirapa Municipal Assembly and benevolent organizations to come to their aid with a KG block
Meanwhile, the Assembly Member for the Konkuo Electoral Area, Hon. Evans Anglieraangwine, on his part, confirmed the position of the chief.
According to him, some of the children crossing the road for school are sometimes, accidentally, knocked down by motorists.
He reiterated the passionate call by the chief for a KG Block for the Konkuo area.
