Residents of Doung, a community in the Daffiama-Busie-Issa (DBI) District have expressed concerns over the insufficient sources of water supply in the community.
Speaking in an interview with Info Radio, Madam Zenabu Shuaibu, a resident of the community, said access to potable water in the community is very challenging to women especially during the dry season when all dugouts and streams are dried up.
She said they have two boreholes at the community which are under pressure due to the high number of residents who depend on them for their daily and household routines.
The residents further lamented that they share the same source of water with the school, which they said creates problem between them and the school teachers as they would only allow the pupils to fetch the water before them.
