Residents of Chaangu appeal for furniture for basic school


Residents of Chaangu in the Sakana South Electoral Area of the Nadowli-Kaleo District have appealed the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly and philanthropic organizations for furniture for the basic school in the community.


They said the present situation of the school is not conducive for the smooth progressing of academic activities as it does not motivate teaching and learning.


Speaking to Info Radio at the community, Mr. Sulemani Suraji said the community members have levied themselves of some resources to maintain the school furniture to support teaching and learning but the furniture have completely broken down leaving the school in a dilapidated condition.


He disclosed that all the windows and door are felt off and the pupils and their teachers are doing their own renovation with gravel to maintain the already pilling off structure.


Some residents said that the school children sit on the floor making their uniforms dirty almost every time.


They therefore called on the District Assembly and benevolent individuals and organizations to come to their aid with furniture.


Meanwhile the Assembly Member of the area, Hon. Yahaya said infrastructure is not a challenge to the Kindergarten (KG) and he assured residents of Changu that their school challenges has been reported to, and noted by, the district Assembly and he will also continue to appeal from other benevolent organizations for support.
