Residents in the Bulenga community in the Wa East District have called for full electrification of the community as some sections live in darkness.
In an interview with info radio, Mr. Danyagre Yahaya said some houses in the community are not connected to the national grid which adversely affects their day to day activities.
Mr. Danyagre said their health Centre and the police station are not also connected to the electricity.
He said there is only one transformer that serves the whole community leading to low current transmission at most times.
Mr. Danyagre commended the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC) for its effort to help provide them with the electricity but called on them to ensure the remaining sections are connected.
Mr. Suglo Nurideen, the Assembly Member of the area said electricity is the main determiner of development of a community and said without light in some section is an obstacle to their developmental initiatives.
He however indicated that he has placed the concern before the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Wa East District Assembly and latter promised providing the needed support as and when resources are available.
