Residents of Bianye in the Wa West District have appealed to the government through district authorities for additional sources of potable water resolve the challenges they udergo in accessing water.
They said the population of the community outweighs the only functional borehole that serves them.
In an interview with Info Radio at the community, the Unit Committee Chairman of the area, Mr Abudi, who is also a resident of the community, said the inadequate sources of potable negatively affects the wellbeing of residents in the community.
He appealed to authorities and benevolent quarters to help with additional boreholes or even a broken down one to augment the present one.
Mr Banyanige, another resident of the community, added that the hundreds of people in the community depending on the single borehole overburdens it, causing it to breakdown intermittently.
He said the community was in dire need of water and thus, appealed to the government to come to their aid. He said even a dam would help to a larger extend.
