Residents of Banungoma Appeal For a Borehole

The Chiefs and people of Banungoma, a farming community in the Baayiri Electoral Area in the Wa East District are unhappy about the water situation in the community. They say despite the many times that they have cried about it, duty bearers seems not care about providing portable drinking water for residents in the community .

Speaking on the matter in an interview with Info Radio at the community, the chief of Banungoma, Naa Nasiru Gbaazu, said the community can only boast of only one borehole. According to him, the said borehole is unable to serve the community any longer due to their growing number . A situation the chief described as unfortunate, since his people have to daily struggle for water for hours.

A resident of the community , Mr. Inusah , speaking to Info Radio on the water situation said residents have to struggle to get water . He therefore appealed to the Wa East District Assembly to provide additional borehole facility for the community to end their daily struggle for portable water.
