Residents of Asse in Guo Electoral Area in the Wa West District have bemoaned the state of insecurity in the community saying it affects their social and economic lives.
The residents said they have observed rising cases of assailants and armed robbery in the community.
Speaking at a community durbar, the Chief’s representative, Mr. Kobina Suglo said the security of the community is threatened as strange people sometimes enter the community and attacked residents and their health workers.
Mr. Suglo thus appealed to the District Assembly to help boost the security in the area.
Madam Agnes Sabo, another resident, told Info Radio that the assailants always come in the evening when people are asleep and attacked some houses while while giving warning shots.
She added that there have been a number of armed robbery cases on the Charia and Asse road.
Madam Fadila Abraham, another resident, cited some instances when armed robbers robbed their relative and took somebody’s motorbike away.
