The Headteacher for Gurimuni JHS in the Wa Municipality, Salia Iddrisu, has urged parents to provide their children with face mask to enable them practice the COVID-19 protocols.
He explained to info News Team that parents have not provided their wards with the face masks and as a result, his students are exposed to the pandemic.
He however, stated that government has made available Veronica Buckets and soap with tissue papers for students to wash their hands.
He also urged the Government to support the students with masks.
On infrastructure, the Headteacher noted that there are no classrooms to accommodate the Upper Primary pupils in the school.
He said the school also lacks Junior High School forcing the students to trek to other communities to access Junior High School education.
This he said has caused a lot of dropouts as most students stop schooling after Primary six.
Mr Iddrisu also observed that the school lacks adequate teachers which is also affecting academic activities.
He said the situation has also increased students absenteeism due to the low number of contact hours.
He therefore called for stakeholders to assist the school with infrastructure and teachers so as to deliver the best educational services to the community.
