Residents of Kalanhi in the Wa East District have bemoaned the difficulties they go through in accessing healthcare services in the community.
In an interview with Info Radio, the Tendaana of the community, Gyangie Piima said the lack of CHPS Compound in the community compels residents to trek several hours to communities with health facilities to access healthcare services, describing it as worrying.
He bemoans that, the situation puts pregnant women at risk, as most of them are delivered of on the way to the health facility.
He also said that, the road network in the area is worse and nothing to write home about, adding more salts to their wounds.
They residents therefore called on government and benevolent organizations to come to their aid in that regard.
