NCCE trains Inter-Party Committee Members to promote peace ahead of 2024 general election


The Wa Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized a day’s training for members of the Wa Municipal Inter-party Dialogue Committee.

 

The members include religious leaders and stakeholders to ensure peace prevails before, during and after the 2024 general election. NCCE inaugurated a 16-member committee to preach about peace. The members of the committee were encouraged to be ambassadors of peace.

 

Professor Samuel Marfo of the Upper West Regional Peace Council facilitated the training and urged the inter-party committee members to promote social cohesion among tribes, religions, parties and communities.

 

Professor Marfo emphasized that by working together, everything is possible. He added that sharing information with the necessary agencies can help prevent violent acts.

 

The representatives of the religious leaders, Mr Seidu Sadiq Abubakari Phanta and Mr Mathias Mwinuba Tengan indicated that they have been preaching peace during their congregations.

 

The representatives of the political parties and members of the inter-parties committee expressed gratitude to NCCE and assured their readiness to ensure peace.
