Miss Dumba'22: Lilian advocates girl empowerment on stage

Competing queen in the ongoing Miss Dumba Beauty Pageantry, Lilian Naalu-Ib advocated girl child empowerment in all spheres of community and national interactions during her Saturday night stage performance.

The Saturday night dubbed "Fashion and Talents Night" saw contestants, firstly, dressed immaculately in classy and sophisticated attires from hair to toe and secondly, a great display of rich talents in various performing and craft arts.

Lilian used her strong passion for poetry to preached the need for girl children to be given equal opportunities as their boy counterparts to develop their potentials.

Her poem titled "Tiku Bipoglee Min Vuo" – literally meaning, "Let's Give The Girl-child Too Chance" – employed varied poetic devices that created enthusing rhythmic patterns, enhanced the poem's meaning, and intensified the mood and feeling of audience.

The poem aroused audience to the tune as they chorused at the "Tiku Bipoglee Min Vuo" refrain – repeated phrase at the end of a stanza – employed by Lilian as she rendered her poem.

In the poem, she argued that the girl child when given the opportunity can deliver as much as the male counterpart could, if not more than.

She reiterated that the girl child should not only be relegated to the kitchen and other domestic chores at the expense of their education.

Lilian hopes to leverage the Miss Dumba title in better advocating and seeking support for adolescent (girl) reproductive as well as mental health activities.

For her fashion for the night, Lilian flourished in a loose-fitting African print dress, beaded single-stripped sleeves and bottom neatly aligned.

Lilian continues to pull public admiration in the contest for her content-rich, impact-tailored performances.

The contest has gotten to its eviction stage with one contestant evicted already, and you might just keep Lilian in the contest and to win the title by the generosity of your support.
