MIN reiterates its resolve to nurture young people’s holistic development

Mr. Abdul Rahim Abdulai, the President of the Muslim Intellectual Network (MIN), has reiterated its commitment to nurturing young people for their holistic growth and development to contribute meaningfully to society’s development.

“Society is dicey these days, once you leave the younger ones to be on their own, anything can happen so MIN is out there to guide them through the right path so that our society can be a better one in future”, he said.

Mr Abdulai said this during an awards ceremony organised by the Network to recognise Muslim students who had exhibited excellence in the 2023 West Africa Senior Schools Examination (WASSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Outstanding Basic Schools and Senior High Schools as well as best teachers within the Islamic Education Unit were also recognized.

The Fongo E/A Basic School and Wa Islamic Senior High School were adjudged the best-performing Islamic schools in the region.

Also, Ms. Ismail Fadila and Master Naean Bashirudeen Wonta, both of the Fongo E/A basic School, who had an aggregate of six (6) each, were highly celebrated during the event.

The duo, who were currently in Ola Girls’ Senior High School, Kenyasi, Ashanti Region and Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, also received the just-ended Presidential Awards for the best BECE graduates.

Mr Abdulai indicated that the Network sought to achieve its objective through its mentorship and annual awards activities to guide and encourage the young ones to persevere to succeed in life.

He indicated that MIN self-funded its activities without looking up to sponsors as that was not sustainable.

He encouraged the students to take their studies very seriously and to make bold and good decisions that would impact their lives and the society in future.

Professor Hamidatu Darimani of the Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHTU) commended outstanding students for their performance and encouraged them to sustain that momentum to enable them to succeed.

The Assistant Head Master of the Fongo E/A Basic School, Mr Osman Mahammed Mujitaba, noted that it was hard work, prayer and determination that earned them success.

He, however, decried the poor and limited infrastructure of the school which was affecting enrolment in the school as many parents and guardians wanted to associate with the excellent performance of the school by having their wards attend that school.

The awardees thanked the MIN for honouring them and assured them that they would not disappoint the Network in their studies. They said their success was born out of determination, perseverance, hard work and prayers.
