The Lawra Municipal Education Directorate has received some office furniture and a Public Address (PA) System from the Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency, Lawyer Bede A. Ziedeng, to improve the convenience of the office work.
Together with the PA system, 11 executive office chairs were received, and 41 broken chairs were repaired for the directorate.
The intervention by the MP for the education directorate was worth GHC21, 400.00.
Lawyer Ziedeng indicated that his passion to impact lives through education in his constituency led him to support the education directorate.
According to the MP, the Education Directorate appealed for support to enhance their work, and he saw the need to purchase the new office chairs and assemble the 41 to enable them to work efficiently.
Hon. Ziedeng also provided an amount of GHC2,000.00 to the education directorate for monitoring purposes.
He also supported the Brifoh Senior High School students who go to Eremon Senior High School to write their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with an amount of GHC11,330.00.
The MP also donated an amount of GHC24,232.00 to support the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the constituency to write their mock examinations before the BECE.
Lawyer Ziedeng noted that all the funds are drawn from his share of the Common Fund and the Ghana Education Trust (GET) Fund.
The Lawra Municipal Education Director, Madam Paulina Azanbawu, expressed her profound gratitude to the MP for the donation to improve education in a positive way, and she assured that the items would be put to good use.
Madam Paulina however, appealed for more support in the area of education.
The Lawra Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Abdul Karim, on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, applauded the MP for the developmental initiatives to help develop the district.
