Writer: Info Radio Info Radio

Residents of Gombile, a community in the Dabo Electoral Area in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region are calling on the government to connect the community to the national grid to enable their children learn at night.

Speaking to Info Radio at a community engagement Mr. Samuel Saakpor , a resident of the community said they are tired of buying torchlight for their children to learn at night.

According to Mr. Samuel, successive governments have deceived the community of extending electricity to the community during electioneering periods , but they fail to honor their words when elected.

Madam Mary, another resident of the community added that, parents find it difficult to provide battery powered lamps to their wards to learn everyday at night due to its high cost. She therefore called on the government to extend electricity to the community to end the current nightmares parents of the community face every night.
