Suleman Mohammed a.k.a. Kweku Baako, the Director of Operations at the Upper West Regional Youth Secretariat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has Monday filed his nomination papers to contest for the position of the Upper West Regional Youth Organizer as the party kicks off its internal reorganization processes.
The NPP opened nominations for its regional executive elections on Sunday, May 15, 2022, across the country.
The regional executive election, which is a precursor to the national executive election, is preceded by the constituency executive elections which were held across the country last month.
Mr. Suleman Mohammed, while presenting the papers at the party's Regional Headquarters in Wa, assured of his selfless dedication to the development of the youth wing of the party when given the nod.
He said he desired to build a very formidable youth front of the party that is energized and enthusiastic in rendering the party's work, and culminating in victory in 2024 and beyond.
Mr. Mohammed reiterated that his decision to contest the enviable position is borne out of selfless dedication and desire to build a solid youth front ready in service to the party through empowerment and capacity-building activities.
A few days earlier, the youth organizer aspirant refuted claims that he was pulling out of the race as speculated by some social media fanatics, where he stated that stepping down would be the last thing he would ever consider as far as the elections were concerned.
The Secretary of the Regional Elections Committee, Lawyer Abdul-Majeed Kele, receiving the nomination documents, advised the aspirant to engage in campaigns of decorum devoid of hate speech.
The processes for the Regional Executive Elections are slated to run from May 15 to May 29, 2022, across all 16 administrative regions of the country.
