K Zorre Properties, a Ghanaian real estate development company, has commissioned a 60-acre land for the construction of housing units for members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in the Upper West region.
The sod-cutting ceremony of the GRNMA Court took place at Wa Sombo yesterday July 05, 2021.
Speaking at the ceremony, the 1st Vice Regional Chairman of the GRNMA, Walwuo Kwaku John, said the Ghana Registered Nurses and Mid-wives Association (GRNMA) in the Upper West Region in partnership with K Zorre Properties to secure the parcel of land to develop nurses court (residence) for its members.
While thanking the chiefs and landlords for releasing the land for the magnanimous project, Mr Walwuo to them to support such initiatives in the region.
Managing Director of K Zorre Properties, Cyrus Kwaku Zorre, said the company partnered with the GRNMA to help members of the Association to acquire litigation free land in order to build their own houses.
He assured that the company has engaged all relevant agencies in the land acquisition process, adding that the company owes it a duty to help remit Ghana’s housing deficit.
The National President of the GRNMA, Madam Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, said the project has come at a better time for nurses and midwives to plan for their futures and asked them to take advantage of the project.
She stated that, about 103 members in the region have already enrolled on to the initiative urging the others to also take advantage of it.
She charged K Zorre Properties to provide water, electricity and 24/7 security at the court.
Madam Perpetual again called on the Members to abide by the COVID-19 safety protocols in order to avoid contracting any of the COVID-19 variance.
She however revealed that, the Association is working tirelessly to ensure the payment of the COVID-19 incentive packages to all frontline health service providers of the association.
The Upper West Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Damien Punguyire, speaking at the ceremony, commended the GRNMA for the efforts in acquiring the land and asked that the land be fairly distributed among members.
He urged members who were yet to enroll on to the initiative to do so immediately, so as to own houses of theirs.
