Info Radio’s story gets residents of Bussie water supply as 4ward Development intervenes

Residents of Bussie in Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District can now breathe a sigh of relief as the community has received solar-powered water systems thanks to Info Radio’s story coverage and the subsequent intervention of a private company in the water sector, 4ward Development West Africa.

This development became possible after the media, in this case, Info Radio covered a story on the dire situation of the residents concerning water supply.

The Assembly Member for Bussie East Electoral Area, Evans Gandibu commended Info Radio for the coverage that brought attention to their plight.

"I am grateful to Info Radio for their coverage which brought our plight to the attention of the world. Our community has suffered enough due to the lack of access to clean water and it's great to see that we are finally receiving help," said the Assembly Member during the commissioning of the project.

According to residents, they have been struggling with a lack of access to clean water for years. The only available water source was a polluted and unsafe stream. As a result, they had to travel several miles to access clean drinking water.

This meant that they have had to spend most of their time fetching water instead of engaging in economic activities. However, with the installation of the solar-powered water systems by 4ward Development West Africa, there is now an abundance of clean water for the residents to use.

The solar-powered systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly, providing a long-term solution to the water shortage issue in the community.

The intervention by 4ward Development West Africa has brought much-needed relief to the residents of Bussie East Electoral area who had suffered for years.

The Assembly Member also urged other Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and the government to emulate the example of 4ward Development West Africa and help communities in need.

It is heartwarming to see that the power of media coverage can bring hope to communities and lead to positive change.

The story of Bussie East Electoral area reminds us of the importance of responsible and impactful journalism.
