A Heavy rainstorm on Monday struck Daffiama in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District with many houses riffed off and others collapsed.
Some of the affected buildings included the District Office of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Kay Robert Kindergarten (KG) and Junior High School (JHS), and Dankyelle Tindaama Primary and Junior High Schools.
This disaster also left many people in the community homeless and others distressed.
Electrical connectivity in parts of the community has also been disrupted and residents in the affected areas have since been leaving in darkness.
A resident, Titus Gbangbanla confirmed to Info Radio the disaster left officers at the GES worried and unstable as their official duties were disrupted.
Mr Gbangbala who was also the Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress in the district, said the GES officials are worried the situation might affect academic work as schools resume next week.
He said the community has since reported the disaster to District Assembly and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
Residents of the community appealed to the government through the District Assembly and the NADMO as well as philanthropists and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to come to the aid.
