Gyilli Assembly Member Raises Alarm Over Deteriorating Road Conditions

Banabas Loggu-Naa Yelyuoni

Mr. Peter Bang-ye Daluo, the Assembly Member for the Gyilli Electoral Area in the Nadowli-Kaleo District, has voiced serious concerns regarding the dilapidated state of the local road network in his electoral area. He emphasized that the inadequate roads are directly undermining the economic activities and livelihoods of residents in the region.

Speaking to Info Radio about the poor state of roads in his area, the Gyilli assembly member cited the case of the Penitobo community, Daluo pointed out the lack of a reliable road linking this area to key markets in Cheria and Sankana, which serve as vital connections to Wa. The poor infrastructure particularly hinders farming and trading efforts, especially during the rainy season when conditions worsen. "The people of Penitobo are struggling to access markets and participate in social activities in other parts of the electoral area," he lamented.

In addition to economic repercussions, Daluo raised alarms about safety, noting that the current state of the roads poses significant security risks to residents. "Unsafe roads not only limit our economic potential but also endanger the lives of our community members," he warned.

To address these pressing issues, the Assembly Member has initiated steps to bring the dire road situation to the attention of the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly, urging prompt action to improve infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for his constituents.

Local residents are left hopeful that swift measures will be taken to revamp the road network, alleviating their struggles and fostering economic growth in the Gyilli Electoral Area.
