GN Bank/Savings Ex-Staff Join Forces with Mahama Ahead of December 7 Polls

The Sympathizers and Concerned Ex-Staff of GN Bank/Savings have declared their support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates in the upcoming December 7 general election.

The Ex-Staff of GN Bank /Savings expressed their disappointment over the continued silence of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo regarding the revocation of GN Savings banking license in 2019.

“It is with surprise and disappointment that we note the continued silence of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo regarding the revocation of GN Savings’ banking license in 2019 and the collapse of other indigenous financial institutions.”

They mentioned that despite the relentless appeals of Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, the Group CEO, to the government to restore the bank’s license, it yielded no results.

“We acknowledge Dr Nduom’s relentless efforts to appeal to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration for the restoration of GN Banking/Savings. Unfortunately, these appeals have yielded no results. We believe that His Excellency will recognized the detrimental impact that the collapse of GN Bank/Savings and similar institutions have had on countless lives across the nation, and call for the reversal of the decisions made by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

“Instead, the administration expended 25 billion in a manner that led to the destruction of the indigenous banking sector, neglecting the renewal of GN Bank/Savings and similar entities, which would not only reinstate thousand s of jobs but also provide critical financial support to local entrepreneurs,” that added.

Mr James Sohimwininye, Co-Convener of the Ex-Staff of GN Bank/Savings and former Manager of GN Bank's Upper West Region branch, addressed the media in Wa. According to him, the former Staff of GN Bank/Savings believes that if the National Democratic Congress is voted into power, it will restore the bank’s operations.

“In light of our commitment to rebuilding our financial landscape in Ghana and our circumstances, we, the sympathizers and Concerned Ex-Staff of GN Bank/Savings stand united in issuing this statement in support of former President Mahama’s commitment to bringing back GN Bank and other defunct banks, to vote overwhelmingly for Former President John Dramani Mahama in the December 7, 2024 elections, hoping he will RESET our lives by revitalizing GN Bank and other defunct banks to also contribute positively to the overall economic landscape of the nation.”
