Ghana Red Cross Society, Upper West donates PPEs to Info Radio


The Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS), Upper West Regional Chapter has donated some personal protective equipment (PPEs) to Info Radio, a Wa-based news specialized media organization, at Wa earlier today.


The items included Veronica buckets, Liquid Soaps, face masks, washing bowl, tripod stands among others, to aid the organization in ensuring adherence to the COVID-19 safety protocols at its premises.


Presenting the items on Friday, June 18, 2021, the Regional Chairman of the Red Cross Society, Mr James Kuunsaana Donkor said the donation was informed by the need for the Society, as part of its cooperate services to mankind, to assist in the fight against the novel pandemic.


He added that, the donation has become necessary to protect the media practitioners at the station and their clients saying that, “journalists play a very critical role in national development.”


Mr James Donkor ceased the opportunity to commend and also appeal to the staff of the station to keep up with the good works, and continue serve the critical needs of the listening public.


He admonished the staff to put the items to good use to quell the already disparaging effects of the virus.


The Regional Manager of the Ghana Red Cross Society, Mr Jeremiah Afako, at the donation, said the works of Info Radio has been impactful and is highly recognized, thus the need for the GRCS to support the station to keep up on their good work.


He said the gesture was a replication of some common values shared by the two organizations, and expressed optimism that it will strengthen the bond of good relation between Info Radio and the Red Cross Society.


Broadcast Journalist with Info Radio, Mr Richard Banoebuuri, receiving the items on behalf of management of the station, thanked the GRCS for the kind gesture and promised to use the items for its intended purpose.


He said it will, in no doubt, go a long way to promote the safety of workers and clients of the station, and in the broader perspective, stem the spread of COVID-19.
