Residents of Gadi and Kendeu communities in the Wa West District have expressed worries about the poor nature of roads within the area, especially the Ga-Wechiau road.
They said the bad nature of the roads is adversely affecting their lives and businesses.
Speaking in an interview with Info Radio at the Gadi community, the residents noted that the bad road networks have made travelling very difficult and costly saying, most drivers do not want to ply the road.
They said the drivers complained that the bumpy and rough nature of the road cause their vehicles damages and intermittent breakdowns.
The residents also lamented that water flows into their homes and stalls anytime it rains as works on Ga-Wechiau road have not been completed.
They disclosed that the road contractor stopped work on the site without constructing gutters to control the flow of water.
At Kendeu, the residents indicated that the road is engulfed with lots of pot holes which results in accidents and loss of lives.
They added that they experience painful post-harvest losses as both farm and market access roads are in bad shape.
The residents, however, said they do not know why the said contractor on the road vacated post when works have not been completed.
They call on the Wa West District Assembly and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to intervene in bringing the contractor back to site.
Meanwhile, the DCE told Info Radio through phone call, that she would find out the reasons why the contractor stopped working on site, and intervene in getting work resumed on the road.
