Farmers in Wa West appeal for timely tractor services


Two farming communities in Ga Electoral Area, Wa West District have appealed to the government to provide the communities with tractor services to improve their farming activities.


In an interaction Chemuoteng, Mr Sopinetey Kombotey, the community leader appealed to the government to provide subsided mechanization services for smallholder farmers to help improve their farming activities.


He said they are unable to afford the high cost of mechanization services, especially tractor services which is adversely affecting their farming activities.


Mr Kombotey noted that lack of access to fertilizer is also affecting their farming.


At Gadi community, Ali Abubakari, resident of the community, also reiterated the need for the government to support smallholder farmer to improve their farming activities.


He said tractors are not available at the community, revealing that unless tractors come in from down south, they would not get tractor services.
