Some farmers at Ga in the Wa West District, have appealed to the government to provide farmers in the area with timely tractor services to help improve their farming activities.
They said lack of technical advice on farming is also affecting their activities.
Mr Maalibunaa Saaka, the Unit Committee Member or the Ga Electoral area, speaking in an interview with Info Radio at the community noted that there is also the need for the government to provide farmers with credit facilities.
He said lack of timely access to tractor services is negatively affecting their farming activities.
He noted that some farmers at the community relied on tractors brought there from south, and that late access to the tractors affected crop yields.
Mr Saaka also indicated that lack of veterinary services is also affecting their livestock production.
He said due to the lack of veterinary services their animals are dying of unknown diseases.
He said government support to farmers in livestock and poultry production would help reduce the poverty level of the people.
