Some residents of Dopieni in the Wa Municipality say they are living in danger as rain water causes erosion in the area and, thus call for the construction of proper drainages in the area.
Speaking to Info Radio, a resident, Salamatu Alhassan explained that the situation is as a result of water diverting from a stalled road construction project from Dopieni to the Odo washing bay.
She added that, some buildings in the area have also blocked the water ways leading to flooding in several houses within the area.
Another resident, Mahadi Samadu also stated that some residents have taken advantage of eroded trench patterns created by rains as their dumping sites, leaving the area in a poor sanitation state.
Habibata Yahaya, a resident noted that vehicles are unable to enter the area in times of emergency. She therefore called on the Wa Municipal Assembly to come to their aid.
