Issah Abdul Ganiu, an associate at Hiquie Sung Joy Network has urged all Ghanaians to not lose guard in the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
He made the call at Siriyiri during a community outreach on COVID-19 and soap making training by the Hiquie Sung Joy Network, where he said everyone must at all cost protect their selves because the virus has already kill more than enough people the world over.
He disbanded the notion held by some sections of the public that the virus does not exist adding that, "the virus lives with us here in the Upper West Region."
Abdul Ganiu cited the closure of schools some time ago, disallowing Muslim pilgrims from performing Hajj at Mecca, the closure of the county’s borders and the imposition of many other restrictions by the Government as some evidences that the virus really exist.
He thus urged everyone to observe religiously the Coronavirus safety protocols to avoid the contraction and spread of the virus.
He said they should practice hand washing, wearing of face masks, observing social distancing and the use of hand sanitizers to keep safe from the virus.
SOAP MAKING TRAINING
The Hiquie Sung Joy Network, an innovative youth organization in the Upper West Region on Saturday, February 13, 2021 facilitated a skill training session on liquid soap making for women and young girls at Siriyiri in the Wa West District.
Executive Director of the Hiquie Sung Joy foundation, Hiqimat Sungdeme Saani said skills training for economic empowerment is a core value cherished by the foundation as she seeks to pit smiles on the faces of people especially rural folks.
She stated that the training aims at creating employment for the people to enable them crawl out of poverty and to cater for their families and children.
The Assembly Member of the area, Hon Adams Osman, in his remarks, urged women to take optimum advantage of the training as it will help alleviate their suffering and the ripple benefits that comes with it.
He expressed appreciation to the Hiquie Sung Joy Network for extending such a valuable yet rare opportunity to the women of the community.
Participants at the training could not hide their joy as they confessed the training has come to offer them jobs that will enable them meet the daily demands of their families.
