Residents of Tuori in the Tuori-Dakpaa Electoral Area of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District have expressed concerns over inadequate sources of potable water in the community.
Speaking in an interview with Info Radio at the community over the weekend, the residents said the few boreholes dug for them do not yield water in the dry season.
Mr. Blaise Kpieobaaree, a resident of the community, explained that the boreholes were dug in the rainy with a superficial water table that sinks during the dry season.
He added that the population of the community has outnumbered the boreholes in the community.
Madam Modester Dorzie, another resident, said women queue at boreholes as early as 4:00 AM which is a source of worry for them.
She said the boreholes are unable to supply more than 20 basins of water in a day before running out.
Madam Modester said the inadequacy of the sources of potable water takes a great toll on their lives.
She appealed to the government to come to their aid to help reduce their plights.
