Curious Minds Host Reproductive Health Talk in Chegli

The Upper West Regional Chapter of a youth-led Club, Curious Minds, spearheaded a comprehensive talk on reproductive health in the Chegli community in the Kperisi electoral area of the Wa Municipality.
The event served as a platform for open dialogue and collaboration between community members and stakeholders, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive strategies and resources to address the root causes of teenage pregnancy and promote reproductive health education in Chegli and beyond.
As the community continue to grapple with these complex issues, initiatives like the one undertaken by Curious Minds offer a glimmer of hope for positive change and empowerment among the youth, paving the way for a healthier and more prosperous future.
Speaking to Info Radio, Mr. Amin Ibrahim, the Deputy Coordinator of the Upper West Regional Chapter, Curious Minds said the initiative aims to enhance reproductive health awareness and combat the rising numbers of teenage pregnancy in the Upper West Region of Ghana.
Yahaya Abdul-Walid, the Assembly Member for the Electoral Area, lauded the efforts of the group, recognizing their proactive approach to tackling such a critical issue affecting the community.
Despite commendable efforts, some residents voiced their concerns over the alarming prevalence of teenage pregnancy within the community. They appealed to state authorities for urgent intervention and support to address the underlying factors contributing to this societal challenge.
Some teenage girls noted that lack of parental care leads to such unwanted pregnancies.
