CEO of NDA calls on Wa Cental voters to reject Dr Rashid Pelpuo in December 7 election

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Mr Sulley Sambian has urged voters in the Wa Central Constituency reject the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr Rashid Pelpuo in the upcoming December 7 election.

Mr. Sambian stated that voting for Dr. Pelpuo would be a significant mistake, noting that he is neither development-oriented nor possesses the necessary skills to advocate for development in the constituency.

Addressing thousands of NPP supporters in the Wa Central Constituency after a “Mega Walk” on Saturday, November 9, 2024, the NDA CEO stated that the NPP would win the 2024 elections. He indicated that his interaction with Hajia Humu Awudu shows that she is passionate about the development of Wa Central Constituency.

“Today I want to tell you one thing; we made a mistake in 2020. There is every reason to correct that mistake in 2024. I have worked so closely with Hajia Humu and I know the kind of person she is. Hajia Humu is a fighter…. Now politics has changed. Politics is about who can lobby and bring things to you.”

The Upper West Regional Minister, Mr. Stephen Yakubu, stated that Dr. Rashid Pelpuo has focused solely on his own advancement, neglecting the needs of the constituency. He argued that during his 20 years in Parliament, the incumbent MP has failed to bring about any meaningful development in the constituency.

“How do you keep someone 24 years in one position and he is not doing anything for you? I met him in parliament and at that time he wasn’t Doctor. Today I saw by his name Doctor; that means that he has been studying a Phd program even in parliament. He has gone to improve himself but not you,” he stated.

The Wa Central NPP parliamentary candidate, Hajia Humu Awudu, expressed gratitude to the youth and women who turned up for the walk. She urged them to vote for development and jobs by voting for her and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections.
