“Catering for orphaned and vulnerable children is not a thing for an individual” – Rev Dan

Children at Child Support-Ghana

Founder and Director of Child Support-Ghana, Reverend Daniel Seidu, has said catering for orphaned and vulnerable children is not a thing for an individual, calling for the support of corporate society.

He said this in an interview with Info Radio at premises of Child Support-Ghana, a foster home in Wa in the Upper West Region, which he founded and run.

He said he felt privileged and motivated giving back to society through the child support services he run.

“Personally, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to give back to society. I grew up as an orphan…so I know how children in that situation go through…and that is what motivated me to establish this home.”

“The most important thing is the fact that this thing is not a thing for an individual”

He told Info Radio the success stories of some children who have passed under the hands of the foundation and are currently living better lives.

The facility currently has 20 children in residence, a reduced figure from 56 in 2016, the development, he likened to unfavorable economic conditions.

“The organization was established in 2006 and numerous children have left here. Presently, we have 20in residence…at a point, between 2012 and 2014 we were 56,” Rev Daniel narrated.

He said even in the midst of the challenges, the foundation is motivated to continue to support these children having drawn inspiration from the lives of those successful ones.

He called on the generality of society who are mindful of supporting the cause to reach out to the foundation.
