Bahass Foundation in collaboration with Jirapa Municipal Youth Association (JMYA) has marked this year's World Mental Health Day at Jirapa over the weekends.
Speaking at a courtesy call on the Jirapa Naa, Executive Director of the Bahass Foundation, Eliasu Yussif Baba said mentally challenged persons deserve a space in the affairs of society.
He assured the chief and people of Jirapa Bahass Foundation's unflinching support to the cause of mental health in the Jirapa area.
The Chairman of the JMYA, Mr Osman Hamza said the day is marked at Jirapa as part of their youth's resolve to showing compassion to the mentally challenged in the society.
Naa Justice Donglabong Dinaa who spoke on behalf of the Jirapa Naa, Naa Ansoleh Ganaa II, said commended the youth of Jirapa for the action and urged them to continue to in service to the community.
He called for close collaboration between the Jirapa Youth and Bahass Foundation to championing the cause of community development, particularly in the area of mental health.
One of the mentally challenged persons, who spoke to the very admiration of the gathering, expressed content with the activity and to Bahass Foundation.
About 54 mental ill-health persons, comprising 52 male and 2 females, were cared for during the activity.
