Assembly Member for Dornye Electoral Area Appeal for Electricity

The Assembly Member for the Dornye Electoral Area in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region has called on the government to extend electricity to communities in his electoral area.

Mr Stephen Saator Gbul , speaking to Info Radio Disclosed that , out of seven communities in his electoral area it is only the Dornye community which is connected to the national grid. A situation he described as worrying .

According to Mr Stephen Saator Gbul , the lack of electricity in communities in his electoral area is adversely affecting the economic activities and the living standards of residents .

Mr Saator Gbul, lamented that though Dornye is connected to the national grid there are some houses in the community which are not connected to the electricity grid, and therefore, appealed to the Wa West District Assembly and the government to extend electricity to the rest of households in Dornye and communities without without electricity in his electoral area.

The Dornye assembly member disclosed that , the Wa West District Assembly sometime ago brought a consultant to assess the electricity needs of communities without electricity in his electoral , and therefore called on the government to expedite action to enable communities without electricity access also benefit from the national grid to enable them improve their quality of life.
