The Assembly Member for Beleofili Electoral Area in the Wa West District, Mr Yussif Abdullah has called for the extension of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme to as many vulnerable people in his electoral area as possible.
He said the programme is present in the area but only a minutest few of the vulnerable groups of people are benefiting from it.
He said of all 10 communities in the area with lots of vulnerable members, only 20 of this class of people are benefiting from the programme.
He said the DCE of the area had said a window would be opened for an extension of the programme and hoped that the process to fast-tracked.
He called on members of the electoral to be patient and remain expectant as he hoped the extension window be soon opened.
He thus appealed to the District Assembly and the LEAP secretariat to as a matter of importance extend the programme to the area.
