Adamu Yakubu Confirmed as Sissala East MCE

The Sissala East Municipal Assembly has confirmed Adamu Yakubu as its Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) following a decisive vote. The confirmation came after Mr Yakubu secured a resounding 96 per cent approval at the Sissala East Municipal Hall in Tumu, where 30 out of 31 Assembly Members voted in his favour, with only one dissenting vote.
In his acceptance speech, Yakubu expressed deep gratitude to the assembly members for the trust reposed in him and pledged to be a leader for all.
"This opportunity is for everybody in Sissala East. Together, we must contribute our quota towards the development of our area," he stated.
The newly confirmed MCE wasted no time in outlining his bold agenda, emphasizing development across economic, political, and social sectors.
"I am going to ensure that we promote the development agenda of our area," he affirmed, calling for the full support of the assembly to make his vision a reality.
Mr Yakubu also used the moment to commend the Regional Minister, Charles Lwanga Puozuing, and the Member of Parliament, Mohammed Issa Bataglia, for their contributions to the municipality’s progress.
"Within just a few days in office, our Regional Minister has shown commendable dedication," he noted.
He closed his remarks with a passionate appeal for unity and collective effort, assuring the people of his unwavering commitment.
“I will need the support of all honourable assembly members to ensure that this agenda comes to fruition,” he said.
The confirmation ceremony was attended by Charles Lwanga Puozuing, the Upper West Regional Minister, Abdul Nasir Saani, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Upper West Regional Chairman, Mr Mohammed Bataglia, the Member of Parliament for Sissala East; as well as traditional leaders and other stakeholders.
