A three-month-old baby christened Adif Sumaila born to Mr and Mrs Sumaila at Goripie in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region needs a whooping sum of GH₵15, 000.00 to undergo a tumor surgery at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).
The child with an outgrowth of a tumor at his waist has been battling with the condition right from birth and requires the said amount to save his life.
The couple, parents of little Adif, Mr. Sumaila Suleman and Madam Nadrata Issahaku who are residents of Goripie in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region have been speaking with Info Radio on the situation.
Mother of the child, Nadrata Issahaku told Info Radio that she delivered the child with the condition at the Goripie Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) where an abnormal opening, from which blood was oozing, was detected at where the tumor has grown and was immediately referred to the Upper West Regional Hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
She narrated that, the facility (Upper West Regional Hospital) after attending to the child discharged them and asked that they come back in the next two weeks.
She revealed that, they returned to the Hospital on the stipulated time where the facility in turn referred them to the Tamale Teaching Hospital at Tamale in the Northern Region.
While at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, she narrated that series of laboratory tests were conducted on the baby, results of which suggest that, he undergoes a repair of Spinal Bifida and other repairs amounting to the GH₵15,000.00.
Father of little Adif, Sumaila Suleman howled that every resource of theirs has been exhausted on getting the child treated but the said amount was required by Doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital to undergo the surgery.
Parents of poor Adif are appealing to governmental and non-governmental organizations including the entire citizenry to kindly support them in kind or in cash to save the life of the little child.
